The growing friction between Jose Mourinho and Paul Pogba has not gone unnoticed by the Premier League and other top clubs around the world. The August 2016 £85 million transfer has received interest from top Spanish clubs such as Barcelona and Real Madrid amidst all the tension. Most of the issues stem from the fact that the two play separate styles of soccer, where Mourinho tends to play structured and defensive, and Pogba favors roaming around the field and being creative. This has caused Pogba to be removed from the starting 11, seeing himself replaced by Marouane Fellaini in games such as the unfortunate Champions League loss to Sevilla.
In today’s 3-1 victory against Russia, Paul Pogba found the net after taking a perfect free-kick from over 25 yards and assisted Kylian Mbappe for the first goal of the game. Proving his worth to Mourinho and the world, weeks before the World Cup, the Manchester United manager must find use out of this world class player. While Mourinho has enlisted French coach, Didier Deschamps, to help him get the best out of Pogba, Jose Mourinho will most likely have to loosen his grip on how the midfielder plays to see his full potential (metro.co.uk).
