The third group in this glorious tournament consists of France, Australia, Peru and Denmark. This group should be relatively straight forward. I expect France to win this group with ease. No other team in this group has these many high caliber players. Just to name a few: Hugo Lloris, Raphael Varane, Samuel Umtiti, Paul Pogba, Ngolo Kante, Antoine Griezmann, Kylian Mbappe and Ousmane Dembele. I may have named more than a few, but they just have that many great players and I do not see any team in this group competing with them. Especially since that loss in the European Championship Final in France. I expect this French team to me very motivated and hungry to make big waves in this tournament.
Now that I have the country finishing first established, let’s talk about the second team coming out of this group. I believe it will be Denmark. Listen, I know Australia has rocked the boat a little in past tournaments with none other than the legend Tim Cahill, but I do not think it happens this year. Denmark has enough firepower to get second in this group behind Christian Eriksen and a very young core of strikers like Viktor Fischer and Kasper Dolberg. Do I think Denmark has a chance to snatch first place in this group over France? The short answer is no. Again, it just comes down to talent and France has more of it. Christian Eriksen will not be able to do it on his own even though he has proven throughout his career he can.
