The Winnipeg Jets have been a juggernaut this whole playoffs, as it looks like even Nashville might be not be able to stop this beast of a team. Will they be stopped?
The Winnipeg Jets can’t be stopped right now. They are rolling on all cylinders and are now just one win away from going to the Western Conference Finals. They can clinch a trip in front of their home fans as well on Monday night as that city is going nuts for their team right now.
As they should be because, last night the Jets stunned the Nashville faithful who have to be disappointed in their team. Nashville just hasn’t played or looked like the same team in these playoffs like they did in the regular season. These are two tremendous teams, but the Jets just look so much deeper.
Offensively, the Jets might have the best top six in the West. Consisting of Mark Scheifele, Blake Wheeler, Paul Statsny, Patrick Laine, Kyle Connor and Nikolaj Ehlers the Jets can score at will. They have a great defense as well with Dustin Byfuglien leading the charge especially in these playoffs with 12 points in Winnipeg’s 10 games (4 goals, 8 assists). Byfuglien has been controlling games on the backend not just all of this series, but all playoffs as well. The Jets also have Connor Hellebuyck playing well in net these playoffs too. Hellebuyck has been the backbone of the team this whole season and looks poised in net. With him in net the Jets always will have a chance to win.
This series has the potential to go seven and Nashville is still an incredibly tough test, but the way the Jets are playing right now makes them a hug threat in the west.
