The national anthem before a hockey game is something special, but when Rene Rancourt sings it in the TD Garden it is extra special. According to the Boston Bruins this season will be Rancourts’s last season signing the anthem in front of the Boston crowd. Nothing gets me more fired up for a game more than a killer performance of the national anthem and Rancourt always delivers. There are four national hockey league anthem singers that stand out to me: James Cornilseon for the Hawks, John Amirante for the Rangers, Sonya Brson for the Lightning, and lastly Boston’s Rene Rancourt. We still have the rest of the regular season and the playoffs to see a couple more fist pumps from the Boston legend. I can already picture it now the Bruins are in a game 7 at home and Rancourt could be performing for the last time, if that happens, Bruins by 90.
