Avalanche at Maple Leafs: Colorado goes for their 10th straight win as they take on the struggling Leafs, who are 3-3-4 in their last 10 games. I think Colorado wins this game to extend the streak even further, which would match the second longest winning streak in franchise history.
Redwings at Devils: Detroit is 1-4-0 in their last five games and are 10 points out of the second wild card spot of the Eastern conference. New Jersey on the other hand is coming off a tough loss against the Flyers. Schneider also makes his return to the net after being out 3 games with the flu. I think Devils wins this game because they are desperate for points to stay afloat in the Metro division playoff race.
Senators at Wild: Ottawa comes into this game with a 4-5-1 record in their last 10 games. This team has been an utter disaster for the entire season, they look tonight to avoid a three-game losing streak. Ottawa will be without Oduya and Mark Stone. On the other hand, Minnesota is hot; they are 6-2-2 in their last ten are desperate to climb the ladder in the standings. They sit even in points with the Avalanche for the second wild card spot in the West. I like the Minnesota Wild in this one due to desperation.
Lighting at Hawks: The game of the night. Chicago is coming off a 7-3 loss to the Islanders on Saturday night. The Hawks sit 5 points out of the last wild card spot and are 5-4-1 in their last 10 games. Tampa Bay is on a little bid of a skid here heading into the last week before Tampa host the All-Star game. They are 4-5-1 in their last 10 and have lost three in a row. To me this game is a tossup, but I’ll take the Lightning tonight.
Sabers at Flames: Buffalo is last in the Eastern Conference with 31 points; like their season their last ten games have been horrific, 2-6-2 in that time. They are coming off an embarrassing 7-1 loss against Dallas. Calgary on the other hand is sitting in the third playoff spot in the pacific division. They come into this game 7-1-2 in their last 10. Calgary Flames.
Islanders at Coyotes: Barzal vs. Keller in other words. New York is coming off a huge 7-3 win in Chicago. They are 4-6-0 in their last 10 and have been dealing with a boat-load of injuries across the lineup. Arizona is last in the Western Conference with 31 points, they are on their way to having a top five pick in the NHL draft again…The Yotes are 3-3-4 in their last 10. The Isles are my team and I don’t like to jinx them. I am not saying who’s winning this one.
Good night of hockey. Enjoy!
