MJ and Brady have been known to be the greatest of all times in their respective sports for a while now, but they each have someone that is right behind them (or maybe already ahead of them) competing for GOAT status. The argument for Michael Jordan has always been the 6 rings, greatest scorer of all time, and mounting the most historical comeback against the Monstars to restore balance to the NBA world. Lebron’s excellence over the years has proved he is arguably the best overall player of all time. The one issue people have is his 3-6 record in the finals.
This is when Jordan fans should stop reading because Lebron IS the GOAT. Michael Jordan was on the second-best team of all time. The talent of all of his teammates spread out the floor more which helped Jordan be the elite scorer that he was. Lebron has been an underdog in most finals and beat the best team in NBA HISTORY after trailing in the series 3-1 to secure a finals championship for his Cleveland Cavaliers.
This debate directly relates to Brady and Rodgers. Brady is the most accomplished quarterback in NFL history with 5 Super Bowl Rings (Super Bowl MVP in 4 of those), 3x MVP, 13x Pro Bowler, and the list goes on. Having bad teammates was never a problem for either of these quarterbacks because we all know they can make any receiver look like a superstar. But similar to how Michael Jordan had a much better team than Lebron, how much do their respective defenses and coaching staffs factor into Brady and Rodgers success? Tom Brady has had the greatest coach of all time his entire career with a defense that has always been able to hold their own. On the other side Aaron Rodgers has Mike McCarthy who is not terrible I guess, but McCarthy coaching Rodgers seems like Ty Lue coaching Lebron. The Packers defense has had more holes than swiss cheese in the last number of years, which always makes Packer games an exciting shootout on offense and a sad display on defense. Aaron Rodgers is the most overall talented quarterback with incredible accuracy in the pocket and on the run. He also buys more time with his feet and makes plays with his Alex Smith type speed. Rodgers is a magician out there who makes plays that no other quarterback would ever be able to make. As far as I see it Rodgers is the most talented quarterback, as Tom Brady is the most disciplined quarterback with an extremely high football IQ.
I respect the hell out of TB12, but the one way he can ultimately prove to me that he is the best quarterback to ever walk this Earth, he has to be successful on a team without the evil genius, Hoodie Belichick.
