Alex Kamel: The Green Bay Packers beat the Los Angeles Chargers
Aaron Rodgers is coming into this season with a massive chip on his shoulder. One of the best quarterbacks was gifted one of the most amazing things he could ever ask for; a monster tight end in Jimmy Graham. I do not know about you but all I remember from most of the Seahawks red zone plays last season was Russel Wilson just lobbing it up to Graham and letting him do all the work. Now imagine how much fun Rodgers is going to have playing with him. Even Tony Romo has jumped on the bandwagon:
On the other side the Chargers finished their season with a 9-3 record after starting off 0-4. The Chargers finally put all the pieces together from the young talented defense to the high powered offense. The only thing that will stop the Chargers from reaching the ultimate goal is #12 in the green and gold.
Preston Tiffany: The New England Patriots beat the Los Angeles Rams
Patriots will continue their recent dominance with an improved defense from last year with the addition of players like Rivers, Shelton, Dawson, and Jason McCourty. Rams offense will grow even more in their second year under McVay, and their defense will try and hold their own with the all-star acquisitions of Peters, Talib, and Suh.
In the end, the Rams star-studded defense won't be able to hold down the five-time Super Bowl champion Tom Brady, largely due to their team not having a true player that can be an equalizer against Gronk (not many teams do). The Rams offense will be able to put up points, but most of the time when you give Bill Belichick 2 weeks to prepare for any offense, he's pretty successful (with an average or above average defense).
Brendan Schick: The Los Angeles Rams beat the Tennessee Titans
I want to say the New England Patriots will continue their roll of the AFC, but I feel like this year, the AFC is wide open. And with that, I believe a sleeper team will emerge from the AFC, and for me, that team is the Tennessee Titans. Marcus Mariota has proven he can ball in the NFL, and this season will prove to be his best yet. With a healthy Corey Davis and a workhorse back in Derrick Henry, the Titans’ offense has all the weapons to be potent. The defensive unit for the Titans has the potential to dominate as well, featuring Casey Jurell, Rashaan Evans, Kevin Byard, and Malcolm Butler. The Houston Texans are the talk of the AFC South, but don’t sleep on the Titans.
I think the LA Rams will win the Super Bowl this year. Their commitment to building their running game and their defensive line through the draft and free agency will prove to be successful. 7/9 of their draft picks were spent on linemen. Aaron Donald is pairing up with Ndamukong Suh, Marcus Peters and Aqib Talib on an already strong defensive unit. I think Todd Gurley will win the 2018-2019 NFL MVP and Jared Goff will build off of last year’s success and lead the Rams to their first Super Bowl back in Los Angeles. This team has the potential to dominate the NFC West for years to come
Justin Efron: The New England Patriots beat the Green Bay Packers
It’s bound to happen at some point - The Brady vs Rodgers matchup we’ve all been waiting for. The Pats should be in the Super Bowl because...why wouldn’t they be? And the Packers, with a healthy Rodgers, have the weapons on offense. Newly acquired tight end Jimmy Graham gives Rodgers his first legit star tight end, which might be enough to keep them alive into February.
Bill Belichick is just the better coach, and at the end of the day his experience in scheming for the big games should be what puts them over the edge. Not to mention, the majority of this Patriots team has played in 2 Super Bowls so they won’t be intimidated by the bright lights. All this plus the fact that Tom Brady might be ready to go out on top after winning his 6th ring.
Christian Coppola: The Minnesota Vikings beat the Jacksonville Jaguars
With an already elite roster and multiple veteran leaders on the field, the Vikings are ready to put it all together. Adding Cousins and getting Cook back on the field will push this offense into an elite style of play. A top defense and a potential scary offense, its almost impossible to not put this team at the top of the league. SKOL
Rob Schardt: The Los Angeles Rams beat the New England Patriots
I believe that the Rams are the team to win the Super Bowl. I mean look at that offense, you have Jared Goff under Sean McVay's offense for a second year. Having arguably the best running back in Todd Gurley who had over 2,000 total yards of offense last year doesn't hurt either. Then the NFL's highest scoring offense then gives Goff another weapon in Brandin Cooks, like how do you stop this team? On top of that you had 2 top 5 corner backs (Marcus Peters, and Aquib Talib) in the league and pair Ndamukong Suh with Aaron Donald, are you kidding? This team will be something to watch this year and I expect them to play the Patriots in this years Super Bowl.
Sam Giglardi: The Philadelphia Eagles beat the Oakland Raiders
No team has repeated as Super Bowl Champion since the 03’ and 04’ Patriots but this Eagles team has all the makings to repeat as Champions. Even if Wentz doesn’t start the season they’ll get back to the playoffs because they have a top-5 offense and defense mostly returning and they play in a week division: The Giants will be better but not significantly, the Redskins lost Cousins, and the Cowboys are ok but not great. And once the Eagles make it back, Carson Wentz will be determined to prove he could have led the Eagles to the Super Bowl victory last year. Their opponent will be the Oakland Raiders.
Andrew Marzullo: The Green Bay Packers beat the Pittsburgh Steelers
Led by a revamped defense and resurgent Aaron Rodgers, the Packers take advantage of a struggling Pittsburgh defense to defeat the Steelers in a rematch of Super Bowl XLV.
