1. Cleveland Browns – Sam Darnold, QB, USC
Darnold seems to be the most complete and NFL ready QB out of these multiple highly touted prospects. I think Cleveland finally finds their franchise QB and starts their run to a successful future.
NFL Comparison – Eli Manning
2. New York Giants – Saquon Barkley, RB, Penn State
Although the Giants are in need of a QB for the future I think Gettleman will stick with Eli and try to find guys that can help Eli out and get to another Super Bowl before their long time Quarterback calls it quits. Barkley is arguably the best overall football player in this draft and I find it to be almost impossible to pass up on a guy like this.
NFL Comparison – David Johnson
3. Indianapolis Colts – Bradley Chubb, DE, N.C. State
Chubb is THE top pass rusher in this year’s draft and will be a cornerstone for any team that takes him. Indianapolis is looking for a Dwight Freeney replacement type player on defense and Chubb will be that guy.
NFL Comparison – Cameron Wake
4. Cleveland Browns – Minkah Fitzpatrick, CB, Alabama
Cleveland’s youthful skill is going to be very exciting to watch over the next few years and adding a safe and highly talented pick like Fitzpatrick will be a great add to this young team. Fitzpatrick is highly needed due to a matchup against Antonio Brown and AJ Green four times a year.
NFL Comparison – Jalen Ramsey
5. Denver Broncos – Baker Mayfield, QB, Oklahoma
Denver’s crazy QB situation needs to come to a solution and Baker Mayfield is the answer. The Broncos personally asked for Baker to participate in the Senior Bowl to see more out of the Heisman Trophy Winner. I think Baker is that once in a generation kind of playmaking talent that the previous four picks will regret passing him up for the next 15 years.
NFL Comparison – Russell Wilson
6. New York Jets – Josh Rosen, QB, UCLA
This class of quarterbacks could not have come at a better time for the Jets. Coming off a season where they exceeded expectations, New York is ready for their highly needed Franchise QB. Although Rosen is so highly touted, I unfortunately believe Rosen’s attitude will get the best of him. I believe Rosen will hate being in a struggling New York organization and will end up fizzling out rather quickly becoming another bust for the embarrassing Jets.
NFL Comparison – Jay Cutler
7. Tampa Bay Buccaneers – Connor Williams, T, Texas
Tampa Bay had arguably one of the most disappointing seasons in the league this previous season. Things were looking as if they might make a run at the Super Bowl, but the reality was the complete opposite. Jameis needs to be protected because without him the Bucs might as well quit and get ready for the next season. Connor Williams is that Left Tackle that can push and allow Jameis to become that elite QB that everyone knows he can be.
NFL Comparison – Jake Matthews
8. Chicago Bears – Calvin Ridley, WR, Alabama
Chicago is on track to keep improving the next few years with a young promising QB in Mitch Trubisky. Their franchise QB needs more weapons than Kendall Wright. Ridley can help Trubisky be the future of da Bears and be hopefully be a top QB/WR duo in our league.
NFL Comparison – Julio Jones
9. San Francisco 49ers – Christian Kirk, WR, Texas A&M
The Niners have the same situation as Chicago. Both have hopeful franchise QBs and are in dire need of weapons. Garoppolo is showing signs of becoming the best QB in the league for the next 10-15 years. Jimmy was slinging it to less than decent receivers last year and it’s exciting to think about what he can do with a highly talented wide out in Christian Kirk.
NFL Comparison – Julian Edelman
10. Oakland Raiders – Roquan Smith, LB, Georgia
Oakland had one of the worst Defenses last year even with the reining DPOY on their team. Khalil can’t do it himself and needs help on a struggling Defense. Roquan Smith is the definition of a sideline-to-sideline LB that every teams dreams of having. Smith is a complete LB and can impact the raiders right away especially in a high-powered offensive division.
NFL Comparison – Dieon Jones
11. Miami Dolphins – Quenton Nelson, G, Notre Dame
Miami is in shambles right now and need to get themselves together quickly the best way to do that is to solidify their O-Line so that their QB can be successful. Nelson can be the cornerstone of this O-Line and do a great job all aspects of an offense and keep whoever is behind him upright.
NFL Comparison – Jack Conklin
12. Cincinnati Bengals – Derwin James, S, Florida State
Previously the Bengals seemed to be getting closer and closer to a playoff run but have fallen the past 2 years. There are multiple spots where they could improve but a playmaking defender can be the most influential. Derwin James can end up being a steal as the 12th overall pick because of his presence on the field and crazy athleticism. Derwin can control the back end of this good Cincinnati Defense and push the Bengals back into the playoff mix.
NFL Comparison – Malcolm Jenkins
13. Washington Redskins – Arden Key, LB, LSU
The storyline in Washington this offseason is going to be Kirk Cousins. Since Cousins is expected to resign, many other spots still need to be filled. The Redskins are getting old and need a youthful playmaker on both sides of the ball. Arden Key seems to be the best player on the board and can act as a good compliment to Ryan Kerrigan. Having these two pass rushers get after the QB in a tough division can be crucial to winning the division.
NFL Comparison – Leonard Floyd
14. Green Bay Packers – Denzel Ward, CB, Ohio State
Green Bay’s Defense can no longer ride on Aaron Rodgers scoring 35+ points every week. This Defense needs to be better to make a run at another Super Bowl and it starts with the secondary. The past few years have been embarrassing for the Packer’s passing defense. They have not been able to find solid corners who can make a difference. They need a player to go up against the opponent’s best receiver and make a difference so that this team can get back to where everyone expects them to be.
NFL Comparison – Joe Haden
15. Arizona Cardinals – Josh Allen, QB, Wyoming
Arizona is definitely entering a rebuilding stage with the loss of Arians and Palmer. They have multiple special players on their roster but the QB position is empty and without a QB, David Johnson and the rest of the Offense will struggle. Allen is looking like a steal at 15 and will hopefully be the future and create a dynamic duo between himself and his superstar running back.
NFL Comparison – Carson Wentz
16. Baltimore Ravens – Courtland Sutton, WR, SMU
Baltimore is one of the oldest teams in the league and desperately needs an infusion of youth and someone to catch the football. Half decent receivers in Maclin and Wallace weren’t and will not get the job done for Flacco and this brutally struggling offense. Sutton is a physical and all around solid receiver that can make plays all over the field. Flacco has never had young stud receiver too throw to but will hopefully now be getting what he desperately needs.
NFL Comparison – Alshon Jeffery
17. Los Angeles Chargers – Vita Vea, DT, Washington
This LA defense is the new up and coming team and has young promising players all over the field. The pass rush between Bosa and Ingram is a terror to opposing offenses and with an addition of a run stuffing top DT this D-Line could arguably be the best in the league. The rush defense for LA was one of the worst in the league and Vea can be the solution to this huge problem.
NFL Comparison – Kawaan Short
18. Seattle Seahawks – Derrius Guice, RB, LSU
With a basically non-existent run game and struggling overall offense, Seattle needs a playmaker other than Russell Wilson. Guice is an all around back that adds a personality to this offense. The tandem between Wilson and Guice could cause major matchup issues for opposing defenses.
NFL Comparison – Ezekiel Elliott
19. Dallas Cowboys – Maurice Hurst, DT, Michigan
After a disappointing season the Cowboys will look to get back on track and get back to their winning ways. The defense struggled to stop anyone this year and it started with the defensive line. The emergence of Irving and Lawrence is exciting but the disappointment in Charlton is devastating to this defense. Hurst will look to solidify this high potential Defensive front.
NFL Comparison – Fletcher Cox
20. Detroit Lions – Tremaine Edmunds, LB, Virginia Tech
Detroit has a young talented defense that needs only a few more spots to become very successful. The emergence of rookie backer, Davis gives the lions a lot of hope for the defenses future. Edmunds is the best defensive player on the board and will fit in perfectly with this 4-3 defense and Davis next to him.
NFL Comparison – Jaylon Smith
21. Buffalo Bills – Josh Jackson, CB, Iowa
Buffalo’s defense played much better than expected and had multiple emerging stars in White, Poyer, Hyde, and Brown. I think Buffalo adds another piece to the puzzle on the other side of white and becomes even more dangerous to the Patriots. Jackson is a steal at 21 with his body type and athleticism.
NFL Comparison – Malcolm Butler
22. Buffalo Bills – Da’Ron Payne, DT, Alabama
Buffalo is looking to solidify their defensive line that is highly needed since they face the patriots 2 weeks a year. The addition of Payne to Hughes and Lawson will cause havoc for opposing offenses. Gaining both a god DB and DL in the first round for the bills will be very influential.
NFL Comparison – Damon Harrison
23. Los Angeles Rams – Mike McGlinchey, T, Notre Dame
The Rams are on a great track to be one of the best teams in the league. In order for this team to stay on track, Goff and Gurley need an offensive line. With an aging left tackle in Whitworth and decent right tackle, McGlinchey will fit perfectly at right tackle and make his way into the starting left tackle position sometime in the future when Whitworth hangs up the cleats.
NFL Comparison – Tyron Smith
24. Carolina Panthers – James Washington, WR, Oklahoma State
Carolina has been looking for a rock solid wide receiver one for many years while Cam Newton has been a Panther. Benjamin was not the answer and Funchess looks like he will not break that wide receiver one barrier. Cam needs a weapon to throw to and James Washington is perfect for this Carolina team. With Cam having Washington, Funchess, Olsen, and McCaffery to throw to, this offense can be very scary.
NFL Comparison – Dez Bryant
25. Tennessee Titans – Mike Hughes, CB, UCF
Tennessee surprised many by beating Kansas City in the wildcard round. This team showed signs of v=becoming dangerous on both sides of the ball. In a division with strong offenses, a defense is a necessity. I think Tennessee goes and grabs a corner to put on the other side of Adoree Jackson or in the slot if Logan Ryan continues to produce. Hughes is a small but tough corner that can add a presence on the field for the Titans.
NFL Comparison – Brent Grimes
26. Atlanta Falcons – Harold Landry, LB, Boston College
The falcons have a Super Bowl roster but do have a few spots that can be upgraded. Another pass rusher opposite Beasley could add another dimension to this impressive defense. Landry adds that dimension and creates a dangerous pass rush for Atlanta between Jarrett and Beasley.
NFL Comparison – Vic Beasley
27. New Orleans Saints – Harrison Phillips, DT, Stanford
After falling short of a hopeful super bowl journey, the saints are looking to add to their already impressive roster. A pass rush is essential to a successful season and Phillips is the best pass rusher left on the board. Phillips can play both inside and outside on the defensive line and can help Cam Jordan get to the quarterback.
NFL Comparison – Mike Daniels
28. Pittsburgh Steelers – Rashaan Evans, LB, Alabama
The devastating loss to Ryan Shazier drastically decreased the Steeler’s success. The Steelers were looking to be one of the top defenses in the league until Shazier unfortunately suffered a scary injury. The backs up linebackers behind Shazier were nowhere near an acceptable substitute for their pro bowl backer. Evans adds depth to this line-backing core and gives another personality to this already entertaining team. I think Evans will eventually turn into a star player for this team due to his passion for the game at the line backing position.
NFL Comparison – CJ Mosely
29. Jacksonville Jaguars – Orlando Brown, T, Oklahoma
Jacksonville’s unbelievable breakout season creates a new dangerous force for years to come. With or without Bortles, keeping the QB protected is crucial. The offensive line for the jaguars wasn’t great this year and an upgrade could allow Fournette to run all over this league. Orlando Brown is a huge human being that can both pass and run block at an elite level. Having a young left tackle in Robinson and adding a young and promising right tackle can push this team over the top and win them their first ever Super Bowl.
NFL Comparison – Trent Williams
30. Minnesota Vikings – Ronnie Harrison, S, Alabama
This Minnesotta defense looks like it couldn’t possibly get any better. Adding a highly athletic safety in Harrison could make this defense even more dominant. Harrison Smith, a DPOTY candidate, and Ronnie Harrison roaming the field is a scary thought and could have offensive coordinators questioning their career choice.
NFL Comparison – Jamal Adams
31. Philadelphia Eagles – Donte Jackson, CB, LSU
Win or lose in the Super Bowl this year, the secondary for the Eagles needs to be better. Darby and Mills will not cut it if they want to have continued success for years to come. Adding another corner adds depth and strength to this decent secondary and have the eagles be an elite team for as long as Wentz is in Philadelphia.
NFL Comparison – Richard Sherman
32. New England Patriots – Sam Hubbard, Ohio State
No matter who the Patriots pick somehow, someway Belichick will fit them into this incredible system. The player that I think would most fit this 3-4 defense is Sam Hubbard because of his size and ability to play outside and inside of this defense. Hubbard’s relentless pass rush is something special and a characteristic that is only found in few. Hubbard can become a star in this defense.
NFL Comparison – Joey Bosa
