Are the Rams Super Bowl favorites?
The Rams are in ‘win now’ mentality. The acquisitions of star players, Aqib Talib, Marcus Peters, Ndamukong Suh, and Brandin Cooks makes the Rams even more dangerous than they were last year when they finished with an 11-5 record at the top of the NFC West. Already one of the highest scoring offenses in 2017, they will be able to prove to be number one on both sides of the ball with the new talents added this offseason. This all begs the question: Are they the favorites to win the Super Bowl? If you ask me there is no better team on paper than these Los Angeles Rams and if Sean McVay can bring this team together the way he did last year, then they will be the team to beat.
How will the Seahawks perform in the midst of a rebuild?
The Seahawks have the least impressive roster they have had in years. The era of the Legion of Boom is officially done as Richard Sherman has left to go to enemy #1, the 49ers, and it seems Earl Thomas already has one foot out the door. The Seahawks also lost star TE and red zone threat, Jimmy Graham, to the Packers in free agency. It seems as if the Seahawks are hitting the reset button and are trying to come together to figure out how to construct another team that will be able to get them back to competing for Super Bowls. Even though it is an off year for Seahawks, they can still make a lot of noise with the ability of Russell Wilson and a decent defense. This team is down but not out!
How will Josh Rosen perform in the most competitive division in the NFL?
The NFC West is by far the best division in football right now. Playing a game in Seattle is always an intimidating and hostile environment, the Rams are primed for success, and the 49ers believe to have the second coming of Jesus taking snaps for them. With all this said, the Cardinals come in with a new leader at the helm of their team, UCLA product, Josh Rosen. There’s always pressure on a rookie QB drafted in the first round, and he will have to prove that he belongs in the league by competing with the some of the best teams in the league for the division title.
Also, if Josh Rosen figures this thing out, Rosen to Larry Fitzgerald is going to be an electric duo.
Will Jimmy G play up to the hype?
Jimmy Garoppolo is the most hyped up quarterback of all time this offseason. Even though he has played extremely well and is 5-0 in all of his starts with the Niners, you have to be worried if all of that hype is putting a tremendous amount of pressure on the 5th-year quarterback. Everyone in the media and around the league praised his play by the end of the 2017 season saying that there is something different about him and practically calling him the chosen one to lead the 49ers to the promise land. Of course, the obvious reason for most of this hype is the fact that he is Tom Brady’s prodigy. If that was not enough pressure, he also cashed in on a MASSIVE deal, signing a five-year, $137.5 million contract. People are expected nothing but greatness from the Jimmy G, and Niners fans can only hope that he meets those high expectations for a team that was one of the worst in the league before he graced them with his presence.
