Up and coming Jets receiver Robby Anderson was arrested early Friday morning in South Florida, racking up nine charges filed against him. Anderson was clocked at 105 mph in a 45 mph zone. Anderson then proceeded to sexually threaten the Police officer’s wife, stating “that when he got out of jail he was going to find his wife and f--k her and n-t in her eye”. Anderson was also charged with resisting arrest, reckless driving, fleeing/alluding, failure to drive in a single lane, and 2 accounts of disobeying a red light.
This is truly a terrible situation for the Jets, as they are entering one of the most important off seasons in recent memory, as they have nearly 100 million dollars in cap space. Anderson, after a breakout season in 2017, is thought to be a key piece to the puzzle in 2018. Anderson finished the year with 941 yards receiving, as well as 7 touchdowns. He did this all with Josh McCown and Bryce Petty at Quarterback. In all likelihood, the Jets will be significant players for Kirk Cousins, who stands to make a ton of money this offseason after producing well in Washington the last few years. Anderson could make an even greater leap next year, if he can stay out of trouble. Anderson’s maturity seems to be highly in question. Anderson was also arrested last year in Miami at a concert. Make it back-to-back for him!
