The most hyped up game of last night disappointed (unless your a Red Sox fan), as rookie sensation Shohei Ohtani struggled mightily against the red hot Red Sox. Ohtani was only able to get through two innings of work, throwing 66 pitches while giving up three earned runs, four hits, and walking two. The Angels went on to lose the game 10-1, as the Red Sox dominated the entire game. It has been reported that Ohtani was dealing with a blister on his throwing hand and that was a main reason for his struggles. Ohtani should be able to continue to hit while healing his blister but it is still unknown if he will be able to pitch. If the blister truly was the reason for his struggles last night, then he should probably not start again until the blister fully heals, as he was very ineffective last night. Outside of Ohtani’s struggles, the story of the game was Mookie Betts, who hit three home runs last night. Betts has had great success so far this season, hitting .386, with 5 home runs and 13 RBIs. As an MVP candidate two years ago, Betts is a huge part of this Red Sox team and if he continues to play at a high level, the Red Sox should stay hot and continue to win a lot of games.
