Eugenio Suarez is one of the top third baseman in the league, and every baseball fan should know who he is. Suarez got some well-deserved recognition as he was voted into the All-Star game for this year, but more people still need to be aware of how good he is. Some of the talented offensive players on the Reds get overshadowed by Joey Votto’s greatness, and Suarez is one of these players. So far in 2018, Suarez is batting .312 with 19 home runs, 79 RBIs, and a .399 OBP. There are a lot of guys in the league that get overlooked due to either other superstars on their team, their team isn’t very good, or they play in a small market, and all three of these describe the scenario Suarez is currently in.
Not only is Suarez constantly producing at the plate, but he is under team control through 2025. This means he will be around for a while so if the Reds can turn things around by then, Suarez will be there as a veteran for the younger players to learn from. The Reds have a lot of talent on the offensive side, so they just need to do a better job of developing pitching for them to be legitimate contenders in a few years.
